Online Airsoft Shop in Australia
« on: March 04, 2012, 06:11:44 PM »
Just saw this post off Airsoft Council on facebook

Quote
A new website has appeared supposedly selling airsoft devices to Australians, online, apparently from Sydney (started in late February). We've emailed the owner to find out what they are all about, but until they reply our advice is avoid the site.

http://buysoftaustralia.com/

Ordering anything from this site - which is controlled from outside Australia, registered in Malaysia, domain protected in Singapore and being hosted on servers in Hong Kong - would be a mistake. They'll get your money but the chances of getting your item are are extremely low.

The items for sale are still restricted, even with a H class licence, there is no valid reason to possess. If the devices are in Australia, and as claimed can be bought online and shipped to you in 1-2 days, they have been imported illegally and you will be paying a very high price to receive illegal items.

Even though the site mentions the Australian Airsoft Council we are in no way affiliated with it. Unless the answer to our email gives a satisfactory account of the sites presence we will be reporting the site to authorities as a show of good faith with government.

All this info was removed from their facebook page and put on here as a warning for all of us to watch out!

Also for the people that run Airsoft Australia, please check the webpage as it referes to Airsoft Australia also.
Going by our forums, it looks like Aisoft Australia have nothing to do with this Website so can anyone please send an email to them just as Airsoft Council is doing?

It would not be in our interest for randoms to start trying to import taggers, paying big fines and destroying what we have being building for the past amount of years with referal to Airsoft Australia / Airsoft Council.

I would advise to stay clear of this as buying from them would be breaking the law.

Also on other sites such as topix.com, there is a thread regarding BB/Airsoft guns and there are alot of scammers claiming to either have Airsoft gun or know where to get them.  They are taking alot of money off people and ripping them off.

Beware, and above all, dont jeopardise the cause!

Believe and we will Achieve.

I purchased an under 180FPS piece from them. It did arrive the next day. I'm hoping to use my new airsoft tools to start skirmish in Australia.

Also, edited title to reflect more accurate description.

I spoke to him about that, Insterstate he's only selling to older blokes over 30, most of his customers have firearms licenses but don't want to have to go through a dealer, registration etc.

I bought some skirmishing M16's, semi auto's that hit around 160FPS

Also got some electric blow back pistols that chrono'd at 170, they take batteries lol. This skirmish will be interesting but I don't have enough yet for a full skirmish. I will be inviting a few members to the skirmish, you'll be able to meet some of us at Airsoft Australia and Also the Airsoft Council will be there if you had any questions for those blokes.

In theory, not saying that i would but couldn't you purchase a spring powered Airsoft gun that's under 180 fps from someone in SA, then simply order a better spring from somewhere else and fix it up yourself to get slightly greater fps?

Hey there new member here. I just bought a kwc taurus pt 24/7 from the airsoft club sa at the brickwork market in adelaide. I was talking to peter the owner who has been involved in airsoft for 20 years and has been importing decent low fps guns for awhile now. I would say that anyone looking to get in the business of importing and selling should talk to this guy.

I've never heard of a sting setup to bust airsoft purchasers. How can it happen again if it's never happened?

I would advise highly against this. If they are made legal you will be the one to get them banned again. The forum does not need stupid comments like this

Dear Mr Crazy “Man”
If you do that you might just destroy the chances of Australia getting airsoft.
And you would get charged with importing firearms, and depending on your age do jail time or juvenile detention, I’m going with the second…
So do you think it’s worth it?

Thanks and Regards
Omnipotent
