 Heya all I couldn't find an introductions part in the forum, so I thought I'd start one.

My name is CJ, I was born in Australia in Sydney, grew up in Wollongong/Figtree.

Had a knack for fixing things, a very keen eye for detail and a fixation on having an active imagination.

I've loved video games all my life, been playing since I could pick up a Nintendo 64 controller, which I still have in working order.

I thought to myself, these shooting games are pretty realistic, but what could put me right into the action? "Heads up display?" I thought to myself, but that seemed implausible. So I searched Google for "Role play war games" and it had a few links which seemed interesting, but none that really got my attention, but then I found Airsoft war games... From that point on, my life was changed ^.^

I hate to burst your bubble however "Airsoft Wargames" are a long way away from being legalised in Australia. Because the government isn't very keen on having people shooting at each other with look-alike firearms, we are going with a less aggressive approach. As much as we would all love Milsim type Airsoft, it is just not plausible at this stage.

We are taking baby steps, as one wrong move could turn our entire association to rubble. A video will be released some time this week/next week to explain what exactly our aim is and what we have achieved so far.

Thanks for the reply dood Milism type games are the most fun haha, damn But atleast our government is finally pulling their head out the sand and atleast trying to accept Airsoft as a recognized sport, so at this point even baby steps are still steps in the right direction

Name is Serg, 22yo, Aussie born, Portuguese background... Lived in Portugal for about 10 years, thats where I got into Airsoft and played for years! Euro destroyed the european economy so had to come back to Melbourne not long ago where I now play paintball (Got my P firearm license) until Airsoft gets legalized (might take a while in vic)! Anyone that wants to play some paintball let me know! (+18 only!) Also add CR34MED on XBL or WhatsLag on PSN, always on playing FPS's mostly on PSN this year.

I too would have no problem with Airsoft getting it's own firearms classification, in my opinion it might help Airsoft become legalised earlier than thought

And thanks for the support dood, we all hope we succeed too, we're putting our all into getting Airsoft legalised

We're always looking for people to help us out by spreading the word about us, just to suggest us to any friends who might be interested

There is something you could help with if you wouldn't mind

We are interested in knowing more about overseas clubs, the rules and regulations of the club, ie. any restrictions on ROF, BB grain size, playing field size, bodily protection.

Any help regarding that would be much appreciated

We are doing our best to get Airsoft legalised but it is a lengthy process which will take much time.

If we can show our government that Airsoft can be and is a safe sport provided certain protocol is met, then it will make our journey to legalisation even a tiny bit shorter

Hi, I'm from the UK, been an airsofter for over 2 years and thought about moving over to Australia and wanted to make sure I could bring my best freinds and I find out I can't

So i'm here to help you lot until I can bring my freinds (my guns if you haven't guessed)

Someone posted about grain size, if you mean the charge of explosive which propels real bullets then you are mistaken. Airsoft guns are always either powered by Gas, electricity or spring, NO EXPLOSIVES. If you meant the diameter of the bb then it is generally 6mm and weight can be picked as whatever you want, I find 0.25g bbs to work the best.

With regards to protection, in the UK you only need ballistic goggles or glasses which will with stand multiple impacts but I have seen several people lose teeth so I personally wear a face mask.

I'm guessing that when Airsoft gets legalised over here our government will impose much more strict rules concerning protection.

I'm actually from New York....but I'm not as well.
For that reason, I reside in limbo.
Anyway, I'm want to see Airsoft introduced into Australia because of the tactical aspect of it that you don't find in a lot of sports, and the realistic aspect that you don't find in paintball.
